Super flavorful and smoky meat! This is more of a grab and go situation (if you can find parking) the place inside has pretty limited seating but the tacos are absolutely perfect. I am a complete carnivore and the meat in these things are heavenly.
The tacos here have some serious spice if you get it con todo, so beware ;) I tried an al pastor and one carne asada. I preferred the al pastor and the asada is more like thin strips of skirt steak. No bathroom, parking wasn't very convenient but I luckily found a spot on a nearby street in the neighborhood. There are two tables to sit at and it wasn't hard to find a spot. The people working here are friendly and helpful!
Great little Mexican spot . They don't skimp like other street tacos places. I was surprised guacamole was included in every taco. I've only tried the carne asada and chorizo tacos but man they were good. Watching the staff in line was fascinating. When someone needed something they yelled the item that was needed and the most available person handled it. The one big drawback was waiting in line. It goes fast but there was only one guy making them and it slowed down the assembly process. On the plus side you can call ahead to order the tacos.
The perfect taco DOES exist. I come here often and it's always outstanding! Asada and chorizo are my go-to meats of choice when I come here
I've had a decent amount of tacos in the area from places like El Venado, Leo's, Brothers Cousins, but these?? These take the prize. The place itself is not in the best location, it's dimly lit, there is no parking lot, and you might have to walk down some sketchy streets. You'll have to find street parking down the block and then walk over to Tire Shop. Walking up to the place, you'll be met with the glorious smell of meat and tortillas made from scratch. There are only three tables under a tent with about six seats at each, so no guarantees you can be seated especially if they're busy. You'll line up in one spot if you just want a taco and another spot if you want anything else (burrito, quesadilla, mulitas, etc.); they'll tell you were to line up. I ordered mulitas de carne asada and got everything in it: cilantro, salsa, onions, cheese, guacamole. I loved that they put guac in it, not a lot of places do that! I was worried when I got to the register because I realized that I didn't have any cash on me, but do not fret, they take card! The handmade tortillas make a world of a difference in terms of quality. The tortilla was soft and warm, I was eating just the tortilla at one point because it was so good. That first bite was insane. Their meat was so good!! Perfectly grilled, not chewy at all, great smoky flavor, right amount of thickness. Delicious. 10/10 recommend checking out Tire Shop for some authentic, hand crafted tacos.
Solid tacos and they have a couple chairs and tables. I got the carne asada and pastor tacos, but I think their carne asada is better than their pastor. Wasn't crowded when we got there at 7:30 but a line started forming shortly after. We did street parking. Believe they are cash only.
This place was a little hard to find. There's a laundry mat and car wash establishment next to it. Parking was a little tricky. We parked on a side street, which was dimly lit. I had to rely on pictures on Yelp and smell to find this place. Anyway, when you find it, it's has a nice area with seating. The first thing I saw was the making of fresh tortillas. It was a bit overwhelming because you don't really know there's two lines. There weren't many people, but I heard this place can get crowded. After you get your food you go to the end of the table to pay. Cash only. Amazing tacos. $2.50 each! I got the cabeza and Al pastor. All had good flavor. Life changing al pastor though. It was tender, lightly crisp, and lightly sweetened from the fresh pineapple. My daughter loved her carne asada taco, down to the last bite,
Pro: handmade tortilla, grilled meats. Grow: seating area, need more salsa. I had heard many good things about tire shop taqueria and had to try for myself. You can see the smoke from the grilled meats from a block away! This is a very authentic taco shop with good quality tortillas and meats. You first get in line and one of the taqueria takes your order and you then pay/order drinks. The service was quick and friendly. This taco stand is located in a tire shop which gives it a unique and casual vibe. Food: I tried one of each taco and they were all so yummy. My favorite tacos were the cabeza followed by the asada. The meats were tender and smoky. The chorizo was also tasty and spicy. My least favorite taco was the Al pastor as I found the meat a bit too tough and flavorless. They added way too little salsa for my taste, make sure to ask for some on the side. The horchata was creamy and very tasty. It was about $20 for 4 tacos and the water. Overall, these tacos are top quality and the tortilla itself makes this a standout.
I'm one of those mexicans from San Diego that trashes LA mexican food but these tacos are definitely some of the best I've had. The wood fire grill, el trompo, las señoras haciendo tortillas, all the home made salsas and roasted veggies, and different types of meats. Yum I wanna go back already! The whole personnel was also so hardworking and kind! I'm so glad I decided to randomly walk at 11pm by myself from my hotel to find late night tacos in Hollywood. Ps: Cabeza was the absolute best one!
